SUPPORTING YOU ON YOUR FAMILY JOURNEY
My mission at Drift is to help you step away from routine and find time to focus on yourself and your unique journey to motherhood.
I am passionate about helping parents find time for themselves. As a mother of two young children, I know it’s hard to carve out personal time when life changes and focus shifts as we become caregivers. But taking some time for yourself can help you benefit with more calm and focus to be present in whatever tasks life throws at you. My training in pre-natal massage ensures that I can safely support you at this special time. I will consult with you to tailor your treatment, and offer a nurturing touch to help alleviate common tensions that can build as your body changes and baby grows. The journey to parenthood is unique for everyone, from conceiving, to pregnancy, and recovery. I will create a personalized treatment for you that adapts over time, helping you feel more balance and calm. You’ll be surprised just how much an hour away from daily distractions can refresh your body and mind.

“I had my first pregnancy massage with Anna-Louise. The massage room was very tranquil with a very comfortable heated massage bed. She made me feel completely at ease throughout, and the massage went top to toe including some circles around my belly which felt amazing. I would highly recommend for anyone going through pregnancy- when the body is so busy making and creating, it’s more important than ever to make time for ourselves. ”

All About Your Nurturing Pregnancy Massage
-
How would you describe this treatment?
Your pregnancy massage (prenatal massage) is a tailored treatment taking into account all of the the changes occurring at this developmental time. My role is to help you to find time to rest, and repair in the hands of a therapist specifically trained to take care of the pregnant woman safely. The reassuring touch of massage aims to ease anxiety and stress, addressing some of the physiological effects associated with pregnancy, such as lower and upper back pain, or pelvic girdle/hip pain. If you are searching for pregnancy massage, at Drift, I am here to help.

What can I expect?
The Drift pregnancy massage techniques are not dissimilar to those of a Swedish massage; however, there are some notable differences that take pregnancy into account, ensuring your well-being.
I will utilise mainly slow Swedish massage techniques, however, the use of targeted and deep therapy will not be used due to the risk of thrombosis (particularly if undiagnosed), and to avoid particular acupressure points.
I will make greater use of side-lying positions, as this will be a far more comfortable position to be in naturally and avoid long periods lying on your back.
-
How will I benefit from this treatment?
Massage is not only beneficial to Mum but also to your fetus. For you as a Mother it improves circulation and oxygenation of soft tissues, helping to distribute nutrients to the body and placenta.
Muscular tensions and cramps can feel greatly eased, alleviating discomfort, and by helping to increase your feel-good hormones (serotonin and dopamine) the release of oxytocin can lift your mood giving you a better sense of wellbeing.
Touch can positively affect your baby, improving blood flow with nutrients for healthy growth. Massage can also help support posture for both you and your baby, potentially leading to an easier delivery.

Taking Care of you and baby.
During my pre-natal training I was lucky to learn about the benefit of the Rebozo. Woven shawls made in Mexico were used daily and became a tool with which women could offer one another support during pregnancy labour and beyond. By using the gentle techniques of wrapping a Rebozo scarf around your waist or bump to help loosen the pelvis, we can encourage space for baby to move to a more optimum birthing position toward the end of your pregnancy between weeks 34-37.
It is important to note that medium to light pressure will be used throughout the pregnancy massage, you will dictate what feels comfortable. This experience is aimed to be calming and deeply fulfilling. I am honoured to be a part of your journey.
I’m here to support you
My own path to parenthood brought challenges of fertility with five cycles of IVF. Alongside the very clinical process I had to undergo, the addition of holistic therapies helped me find a greater sense of calm in what was often and overwhelming and stressful process. I want to help you find a greater sense of balance in whatever stage you are in on your pregnancy journey. From trying to conceive, to managing pregnancy changes, and finding time out as a parent, I’m here to offer a calm reassuring, healing, hand.
Pre-Natal Massage
Wherever you are in your fertility journey from trying to conceive, or navigating the physical changes and strain that pregnancy brings, the power of healing touch can’t be underestimated. The gentle and soothing methods of prenatal massage not only offer you significant relief from discomfort but also help to create and maintain a lasting sense of calm and emotional balance during this special time in your life. This nurturing practice can provide you with the opportunity to unwind and connect with both your body and your growing baby.
The Power of Touch
Just like your gentle touch soothes your child, massage can reduce your stress and pain by releasing endorphins, which improve your mood. From trying to conceive to pregnancy, your body works hard to support you. Massage boosts blood flow, helping deliver more nutrients and oxygen to you and your baby. Many clients feel less tension in their back and hips, which often carry extra weight during pregnancy. The gentle strokes can also lower swelling in the legs and feet. Massage helps ease tension, making it easier to stay active throughout your pregnancy.

For busy parents, taking an hour for self-care boosts your mood and helps you return to your role from a place of calm.
Recommended by Hello Baby
For expectant parents, I recommend learning about your journey with Hello Baby. Hannah, a midwife since 2012, has helped many women through pregnancy, birth, and early parenting, while Chloe is a hypnobirthing practitioner. They visited me at Drift studio, where I demonstrated pregnancy massage techniques. They offer a friendly space to share their knowledge and help you meet other parents on a similar journey.
